As Trump was tweeting in the oval office one morning, one of the staffers informed him of some bad news from overseas.

"Sir, a series of bomb explosions has rocked an island country. Many have been killed, including one Brazilian American.''

Trump then asked, "OK, how many is a brazilian?"

During his visit to London, Trump observed that there were only tiny handfuls of protestors against him.

Trump was counting them on his hands.

Nancy Pelosi recently said Donald Trump stormed out of a meeting with her and Chuck Schumer, demanding an end to his probes for him to talk to the 2 congressional leaders. Pelosi called Trump's actions "temper tantrum" and "villainous."

Which of the following is accurate?

A Trump is what would happen if Mr. Burns got a hair transplant yet packed on the pounds.
B Trump is what would happen if Gaston let himself go.
C Trump is what happens when you constantly tell a kid his ideas are very special and crushing it.
D All of the above.

Trump refers to Prince Charles as "Prince of Whales" in his tweeting, confusing an animal with a country.

Perhaps a Freudian slip about Trump letting himself go, or a reminder that the president still could not win a 1st-grade spelling bee?

Had Trump managed to get the Prince of Whales into his casino, it wouldn't have gone bankrupt.

I wasn't sure if this was a joke or not. It's true.

Also there has not been a Queen of England since Elizabeth I died in 1603. Out of respect for the union with Scotland which is now hundreds of years old, she is the British monarch.

This got me to wondering what her proper title is. This page lists lots of them. How is someone who is not a British subject supposed to express her title? To say "Her majesty, the queen," doesn't make it clear what she is queen of.

When addressing her you simply say "Your Majesty" and "Maa'm" after that. It is understood what what her domains are.

In casual reference in writing it is OK to call her the "British monarch" or the "British Queen". In a similar manner it is acceptable to refer to the country as Britain. The more pedantic may say that Northern Ireland is not part of the island of Britain, but it has been ruled that the adjective "British" includes Northern Ireland.

But the name "England" is only acceptable if you are referring to the consituent country of England as something apart from Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The other term that is no longer acceptable is "British Isles" because you are no longer acknowledging the independence of the Republic of Ireland.

There is some speculation that BREXIT may give economic incentive for Northern Ireland to join it's Republican neighbor. The centennial observation of the creation of the Irish Free State at 10 Downing Street on 6 December 1921 would be a good time.

Dublin Airport has a pre-clearance facility to the USA now, allowing passengers to clear customs in Dublin instead of upon landing in the USA where they would be treated like domestic passengers. Also the new generation of single-aisle jets can fly to Dublin from portions of the Northeast and Central Atlantic. Dublin is the easiest city to get to in the EU from the USA (compared to Paris, Asterdam, Frankfurt, etc).

Thanks, what would we do without you?

I thought northern and southern Ireland couldn't stand each other.

On 15 August 1998 in the town of Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland this car was detonated killing 31 and injuring possibly as many as 300 people.

Protestants and Catholics were murdered in about equal numbers.

The horror and the uniform suffering took most of the popular support for the warfare out of Ireland. On 31 July 2007 the British troops were withdrawn after 38 years.

As Ireland became dramatically wealthy in recent decades, people developed more concern about economics than about centuries old often religious based grudges.

The most significant royal victim of the fighting was Lord Mountbatten. He and four other relatives were killed by a bomb on 27 August 1979. He was an uncle of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and second cousin once removed of Queen Elizabeth II. Prince Charles was planning on marrying Lord Mountbatten's granddaughter (his second cousin) , but after she lost so many relatives to the bombing, she no longer wanted to be the future Queen, and Charles opted for Diana, the high school kid who listened to his grief filled stories about his beloved great uncle.

Had Charles married Patricia, the royal princes may not have been quite so handsome.
