Handel got 134,595 votes.
Ossoff got 124,893 votes.

Handel got 52%.
Ossoff got 48%

(In Evenbob's world, the difference between 52 and 48 is 6.)

It's appropriate for GOP to celebrate that they won this seat. But don't get too cocky about it. Handel is an experienced professional politician, having previously served as Georgia's secretary of state. And Ossoff? He's never been elected to anything. He's a "documentary filmmaker." (In other words, he's a nobody.) The fact he had Handel sweating is impressive considering that in this same deep red district in 2016, Tom Price won 61.6% of the vote and his opponent scored a whopping 38.4%.

I think there is legitimate reason for concern on both sides. The Dems poured a crap ton of money into this and lost. Their candidate did not live in the district, it rained a lot that day, etc.--they need to sit down and figure out why they are losing these elections even when the President seems to have such low polling numbers. Given what the numbers say, they should have won one or more of these elections. They need to focus on something other than destroying Trump...why not focus instead on trying to do things that make people want them to win the next elections? Their platform as of now seems to be to have one giant negative campaign. It is not working...it may not work.

The Republicans need to focus on whining less about Trump and doing what they can with, or in spite of, him. McCain and his ilk don't have to like the President--none of us do--but they need to understand that he is the President and they can either act like the Democrats are or risk losing the House in 2018. If the public likes the President more than the polls show (which seems to be the case given what happened in November and since then), they aren't just going to vote "R" in 2018 to re-elect people who have done nothing but stand in the way.

Congress should do their job and make the President do his. Send him bills. Let him decide to sign or veto.

Forget "Obstruction of Justice"...we have a whole bunch of people who are "Obstructing The Country"...

Okay...and if there is something that comes out of the investigation, then it is time to worry about it.

So today the spin begins. Yesterday
it was massive denial that all the polls
were wildly wrong AGAIN, today the
spin is it's good they lost because now
the Repubs will get lazy and the Libs
can sneak in and start winning.

So now losing is a good thing. LOLOLOL!

And President Trump is being proven right yet
again. He won the popular vote after all. The
Left just can't catch a break.

Study: More Than 6 Million Noncitizens May Have Voted Illegally in 2016 Election

"Just Facts’ study found that the number of non-citizens voting in 2008 was between 594,000 and 5.7 million. The study also concluded that between 1.2 and 3.6 million voted in the 2012 election.
If these numbers were the same or larger in the 2016 election, it could potentially account for Hillary Clinton’s lead in the popular vote — as President Trump has claimed."

Go ahead and Google up this "study" and take a look at the winding path from data to conclusions. A fine example of torturing the data until it confesses.

Why bother? Any estimate spanning a whole order of magnitude is completely worthless. It's like being told inflation is forecast to be between 1% and 10%, or that there may be a wait between 10 minutes to an hour and a half, or even that we'll absolutely have fusion power within the next 10 to 100 years.

Wasn't this study based on data gathered through polling?

Isn't it interesting that the Republican Party, which controls both houses of Congress and the White House has done nothing to fix this? And yet these Republicans politicians are personally affected by illegal voting. This affects their own careers, their own livelihoods, their ability to win elections. It's in the GOP Congress' own best interest to fix it. But they refuse to even address the issue, let alone fix it. Are they in denial? Why?

The other possibility is that the Republican politicians know it isn't true.
