You are at the controls of the "High Roller" observation wheel. It is mid-afternoon, and the pods are full of passengers enjoying the view, when you begin to receive reports of a "terrorist" incident at the Sands Convention center, which is a block north. The radio reporters are mentioning multiple gunshot victims on the Strip, and folks that have been run down by at least one automobile. You flip open your operator's manual to section tabbed, "What to do in case you receive reports of a terrorist incident at the Sands" and find the pages are missing.

What do you do?

Start emptying gondolas but detaining personnel with cameras. Don't load any more persons waiting on line except known card counters.

If I was in one of the pods, I would definitely want to take my chances on the ground, rather than being a stuck in a clear, not so bulletproof capsule.

In light of the recent terrorist incident in London, I was a little surprised that the operators stopped the "London Eye" wheel, suspending all their passengers until...? I don't know when their operation resumed.

The problem with the London eye is that it takes almost 30 minutes to unload the thing @ 0.6 mph. They have no fast speed. The operators held them up for about one extra hour where the riders had a clear view of the action on the ground.

I would close the ride to newcomers and let the ride continue, letting off the people already on. I would not speed it up, even if I could, to avoid inducing a panic.

There is a huge room leading to the ride, meant for the event of really long lines. I would recommend to those getting off the ride wait out the situation in that room, but not force anyone.
