Fuddle and befuddle. Fuddle is a real
word, it means to make someone
disoriented or confused. But we never
hear it anymore, we say befuddle, which
means almost the same thing.

"Fuddle meant to become fuddled and befuddle meant to make someone fuddled. However, we stopped using this prefix so the differences between the prefixed and unprefixed forms began disappearing."
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.
