Rian Johnson is a great director. This looks visually stunning.

Betting opportunity: what percentage of the shots shown in the trailer will make it to the movie?

I don't think we will have another Rogue One on our hands where the movie gets totally reshot over the summer.

Seems like a fairly short feature film resume. Granted JJ Abrams had only one more feature film, but they were much bigger budget films

Rian Johnson feature films directed
2017 Star Wars: The Last Jedi
2012 Looper : Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt = Worldwide: $176.5 million
2008 The Brothers Bloom : Rachel Weisz, Adrien Brody, Mark Ruffalo= Worldwide: $5.5 million
2005 Brick : Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lukas Haas, Emilie de Ravin = Worldwide: $3.9 million

JJ Abrams feature films directed
2015 Star Wars: The Force Awakens =Worldwide $2,068.2 million
2013 Star Trek Into Darkness = Worldwide: $467.4 million
2011 Super 8 = Worldwide: $260.1 million
2009 Star Trek = Worldwide: $385.7 million
2006 Mission: Impossible III= Worldwide: $397.9 million

WOW!

Huge news tonight.

Lord and Miller, the guys directing the young Han Solo movie, have left the project after months of filming. Apparently they only had like three weeks left to shoot!

Seems like we've got another Rogue One situation on our hands, times 1000!

It was supposed to open May 2018. That ain't happening.

Maybe they can get Alan Smithee to take over.

Apparently Ron Howard is the frontrunner to take over directing duties.

On a brighter note, apparently Lucasfilm loves Rian Johnson's cut of The Last Jedi. So no extensive reshoots or last minute director shakeups will be needed.

Ron Howard will finish up directing the Han Solo movie.

How much credit (or blame) will he deserve when they've been already been filming for 5 months?

All the credit if it is a hit, none of the blame if it is a JarJar.
