So if the OT is equal in every way
to the NT, why does it say this
on a Catholic site:

'Old Testament law, as such, is not binding on Christians. It never has been. In fact, it was only ever binding on those to whom it was delivered—the Jews (Israelites)."

Are they lying, or are you wrong.

As usual it isn't really that simple. Surely this website if it is a real one acknowledges the 10 Commandments. However some things like eating Kosher and many of the man-made laws are not even followed by many Jews today.

Uh-oh is that a warning that this thread will be closed?

Of course not. It seems EB is not agreeing to the cease fire, so I'm sure the drama will continue.

Hey, if FrG says he's had enough and
has run out of ammo and arguments,
I understand completely. He's drawing
from a shallow well, I'm surprised he
lasted this long. Other Xtions would
have been reduced to slinging scripture
at me in every post, that's what they
usually do when they run out of
bullets. That hasn't happened yet.

But he could be bored and exhausted,
I'll take the win any way I can get it.

over fantasy and superstition..

We've never played the scripture game.
Now that you've said the OT is every
bit as valid as the NT, here's some
examples of Yahweh's cracking good
sense of humor:

Exodus 21:20-21
“And if a man beats his male or female servant with a rod, so that he dies under his hand, he shall surely be punished. Notwithstanding, if he remains alive a day or two, he shall not be punished; for he is his property."

Kill slave bad, beat slave half to death, good.
A real knee slapper for human rights.
Here Yahweh advocates the buying and
selling of children, human rights champ
that he is:

Leviticus 25:44-45
"And as for your male and female slaves whom you may have– from the nations that are around you, from them you may buy male and female slaves. Moreover you may buy the children of the strangers who dwell among you, and their families who are with you, which they beget in your land; and they shall become your property."

And here's more of that practical
joker Yahweh, teaching some kids
a lesson on making fun of adults:

2 Kings 2:23-24
"Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!” So he turned around and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the LORD. And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths."

This is nothing, the OT is loaded with
this fun stuff, it's chock full of what
a joy it is to worship a god with a
'Pranked' sense of humor.

Yeah, you don't want to go down this road. First of all it is well trod. I think the Wizard and I have also discussed this and what the Catechism says about parts of the Old Testament. Secondly, what the OT is loaded with and chock full of is expressions of God's loving mercy and hope. You will find some passages like the ones you quoted. You will find much, much, much more about the Lord God's steadfast love, forgiveness, and faithfulness. You need more than plucking out a few lines here and there to make your mind up. Try reading some of it?

Famous atheists like Penn Jillette,
Chris Hitchens, Ricky Gervais, and
Bill Maher, all say if you want to
become an atheist, just sit down
and read the Bible. It will even
make an atheist out of many Xtions.

I never say that because it's too easy,
of course the Bible will make you
not believe in a god. I'd rather get
there by other routes.

You want to start a thread where we read the Bible together book by book? I will bet at the end you will be a Christian or at least know not to parrot the words of those who don't really know what they are talking about.
