What are you talking about? I can't think of any place other than maybe rural farm land that only has a single provider. I would be willing to bet that over 99% of Americans have more than a single provider available.

This was last updated in 2014, but it shows the number of broadband providers available across the US.

https://www.broadbandmap.gov/number-of-providers

Where available, wire (or fibre) based broadband is the fastest and least expensive option available. Cell-based plans are usually metered or capped in some way and generally cost more per gigabyte.

You can see from that map that there is widespread multi-provider coverage for wireless, but way more limited areas for wired service.

Thanks. I didn't know where to look to find a cite like this.

Just to clarify, I'm not talking about wireless providers.

I watch zero of those channels. All my
TV is Nflix, Prime, or On Demand. I
guess OD is watching some channels,
but I see none of them in their time slots.

So net neutrality lost.

So, I ask you, when did big companies that were fighting to overturn net neutrality ever fight for anything which would ultimately lead to more competition against them?

That's the idea right, these big companies fought against net neutrality so the public would benefit from competition.

Are people really that stupid?

Guess so.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

Another slice of our government sold out to the highest bidder. What constituency? Oh, the 83% who wanted Net Neutrality? Who dat?

Nothing to see here. Just keep moving. Head in the sand. It'll all be over soon.

This is my fave so far about this subject:

If Net Neutrality is repealed:
● the internet will cost $879.95 per day
● Millions will lose their lives
● Displaced internet hobos will aimlessly ride freightcars around the barren American wasteland
● Stealing pies from our window sills

To be followed by:

- civil war
- the end of gay rights
- no more abortion
- the end of democracy
- the end of free speech
- 69 gorillion dollars for Netflix
- cancer
- suicide
- plague
- famine

Be afraid, be very very afraid. LOLOL

The people had no say in this. (To be fair, the people also had no say when NN was instituted.)

Hasn't even been 24 hours and they made my Netflix all B&W. Plus they blocked all the nudity on "Game of Thrones!"

Oh, the horrors!
