Maybe I took this incorrectly? I don't equate patriotism to favoring one politician over another.

This is what my "patriotic" post was in response to:

Getting great joy from the president of your country looking foolish I think is a rather unpatriotic emotion.

They're the ones that look foolish, not Trump.
Saw two Dem congressmen on a show squealing
like piggies that Trump lied! Trump lied! The
host said so what, Clinton, Bush and Obama
lied all the time. So Trump lied, so what.

They have nothing now, nobody will take
them seriously. They have cried fire in the
theater too many times and it's always been
a false alarm.

Pretty sure he could turn out to be the most successful President ever (LOL) and still "look foolish:"

This is as big a day as Nov 8th because the
press has been in an absolute frenzy
about it for weeks. Tucker said tonight
he's never seen anything like it in the
25 years he's been in the business.
24/7 wall to wall that today was going
to be Trump's Waterloo, he was done,
he was toast. And all we got was a smelly
fart with no wind behind it. The kind
your grandma gave when she was too
tired to lift her cheek.

BTW, the reason trump will probably be impeached is very simple:

The Mueller probe is certain to uncover all sorts of criminal activity among Golden Boy's minions. Unlike Trump, they don't enjoy any kind of immunity against prosecution. They can be arrested, tried, and imprisoned. Naturally many will seek immunity in exchange for testimony. If immunity is not forthcoming, there's the North/Pointdexter maneuver. It involves openly testifying before Congress on televised hearings with high public interest. Then one's lawyer can argue it's impossible to find a non-biased jury, given how many millions of people heard their client's testimony.

Trump could save himself and what remains of his administration, such as it is, by opening up about any and all dealings with the Russians, people connected with the Russians, and people connected with people connected with the Russians.

I give this advice because I know it won't be followed,

Impeachment, remember, is a political process. All calculations about gains and losses in Congress in 2018, assume an economic situation little different from today's. bad economies are usually blamed on the party in power, often unfairly.

There's little doubt a recession is approaching. It's not imminent. It might be mild, as the one that sank Bush the elder's re-election campaign, or it might be bad. There is little that governments can do in a business cycle downturn to minimize the harm, but there's plenty they can do to make things even worse. And Trump's already started in the latter road. Watch out for losses in touristy areas of the country, and watch the evolution of food prices in the near term. Harvest is approaching.

But probably not. You guys just replace
one fantasy with the next one. The Comey
fantasy went bust, so you move the next
one into place. It's sooo predictable.

As much as I'd like to see that happen, I will happily bet it doesn't. There doesn't seem to be enough here to warrant it.

That's because you're an adult. Most
libs are like children now that have
been told they have can't have dessert.
They'll cry and stomp their feet till they
get their own way. They lost an election
and it never dawned on them this could
happen. So they don't have the emotional
capacity to live with it.
