This went on before Trump was even elected. It was the 'insurance' Struck/Page talked about in their texts. Flynn will walk eventually and people will be going to prison on real charges. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Yes, he did. With the full power of the federal government applied to him, a few threats, and the loss of a crapton of money, he took that option. Probably the best option at that point. Now things are a little different. I don't know what will happen. Things weren't disclosed that should have been. The fact that they may not have had good-faith basis to be investigating him could be important. If you make false statements that are not material to a legitimate investigation, they are not actionable. We'll have to see what happens from here on out. I want it fully investigated and handled properly; that is what all of us should want for anyone. |

Yes, it was investigated and he admitted guilt. I didn't question that those things happened. However, that is not the end of the story in our judicial system. If other information comes out that could prove that there was a valid reason that he should not have been prosecuted or that evidence was kept from his lawyers that could have changed the outcome of the trial, then he has the right to take a few steps back and have the process completed properly. This is a good thing. It doesn't mean he will have his conviction tossed out, it just means that other things can still be considered in spite of it. The can lock him up once they figure all of the issues out if the conviction stands or another one is obtained. |
