If the reporters are sick to death of
this nothing burger story, imagine
how the viewers feel.

It's such a nothing burger story, I can't figure out why everyone keeps lying, omitting and changing their story.
The mind hungers for that on which it feeds.

If you spent years — like I did, by the way — insisting that the Clintons were a corrupt affront to political decency, invoking their venal actions as a moral justification for Team Trump’s actions is the rhetorical equivalent of a remake of Waterworld set entirely in the main vat of a sewage-treatment plant, i.e., the intellectual Mother of Sh*t Shows.

From the Wall Street Journal editorial board.

Quote:
Even if the ultimate truth of this tale is merely that Don Jr. is a political dunce who took a meeting that went nowhere - the best case - the Trumps made it appear as if they have something to hide. They have created the appearance of a conspiracy that on the evidence Don Jr. lacks the wit to concoct. And they handed their opponents another of the swords that by now could arm a Roman legion.

Don't you get it, boys? Special counsel Robert Mueller and the House and Senate intelligence committees are investigating the Russia story. Everything that is potentially damaging to the Trumps will come out, one way or another. Everything. Denouncing leaks as fake news won't wash as a counter-strategy beyond the President's base, as Mr. Trump's latest 36% approval rating shows.

Who is Trump's base these days? Evenbob and Duffman, and some random other guy? Trump people are so full of Kool-Aid, they'll be looking like the rainbow flag soon. Grape, Cherry, Orange, etc.,

People like EB amaze me. He truly drinks the Trump kool-aid. He truly believes the fantasy that Trump won the popular vote. Amazing. Trump does his thinking.

FBI investigators and others are looking at Russian purchases of apartments in Trump buildings, Trump’s involvement in a controversial SoHo development in New York with Russian associates, the 2013 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow and Trump’s sale of a Florida mansion to a Russian oligarch in 2008, the person said. The investigation also has absorbed a money-laundering probe begun by federal prosecutors in New York into Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

John Dowd, one of Trump’s lawyers, said on Thursday that he was unaware of the inquiry into Trump’s businesses by the two-months-old investigation and considered it beyond the scope of what Special Counsel Robert Mueller should be examining.

“Those transactions are in my view well beyond the mandate of the Special counsel; are unrelated to the election of 2016 or any alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and most importantly, are well beyond any Statute of Limitation imposed by the United States Code,” he wrote in an email.

Guess he didn't follow Ken Starr and his team of lawyers too well, when he went after Bill Clinton.

Quote:
Starr was initially appointed to investigate the suicide death of deputy White House counsel Vince Foster and the Whitewater real estate investments of Bill Clinton. The three-judge panel charged with administering the Independent Counsel Act later expanded the inquiry into numerous areas including an extramarital affair that Bill Clinton had with Monica Lewinsky. After several years of investigation, Starr filed the Starr Report, which alleged that Bill Clinton lied about the existence of the affair during a sworn deposition. The allegation opened the door for the impeachment of Bill Clinton and the five-year suspension of Clinton's law license

Huge breaking news:

Special Counsel Mueller Impanels Washington Grand Jury in Russia Probe

Quote:
“This is yet a further sign that there is a long-term, large-scale series of prosecutions being contemplated and being pursued by the special counsel,” said Stephen I. Vladeck, a law professor at the University of Texas. “If there was already a grand jury in Alexandria looking at Flynn, there would be no need to reinvent the wheel for the same guy. This suggests that the investigation is bigger and wider than Flynn, perhaps substantially so.”

Senators Move to Protect Special Counsel in Russia Probe:

This is a good one, and with bipartisan sponsorship.

The window for Golden Boy to resign is now open. It's not possible to tell when it will close, but it will be the moment that 1) he's implicated in collusion with Russia or 2) revealed to be implicated in major or massive wrong-doing. Once that happens, the window closes.

The Senate left town yesterday for five weeks, but it isn't *officially* going into recess - a move to prevent Donald from being able to fire Sessions and do a recess appointment for a new AG who could fire Mueller.

It's pretty funny when the GOP controlled Senate doesn't even trust their President...
