Are you offended by public breast feeding, if the woman makes an attempt to be discreet?
At many communes it is considered improper to be discreet about it at all. Was a strange experience for me to see no modesty towels or the like being in use.

At a Ft. Liquordale Bed and Breakfast, the outdoor breakfast tables just off the kitchen area are often damp with dew so guests take towels outside to sit on but not to wrap around themselves since its a clothing optional Bed and Breakfast. Coffee, organic muffins and naked young yachties: An interesting experience.

I think you are taking my comments seriously.

I know you were joking, but I did take it seriously.

It's the principle displayed that one's tastes should dictate repression. Do you know how much misery has been created by the words "shouldn't be allowed to"?

It was just a chance to use one of my favorite David Letterman jokes.

I never thought Letterman was really funny.

Their rights are already restricted since they can only be nude in designated ghettos. Why can't they go where ever they want nude?

It must be Hell to be in a place where a small amount of liberty is considered more repressive than zero liberty.

I think we are pretty safe in asking people to wear clothes in public.

It's also safe to ignore reductio ad absurdum fallacies when you come across them.

Forty years the Ramones wrote a song about a nude beach near Coney Island NY. Rockaway Beach was about a 100 miles away, so after the song came out we drove up there because my friends and I had never seen a nude beach before. A few months later that Letterman routine about a 320 lb nude woman chasing a frisbee on a nude beach with body parts slapping together came out.

I thought it was very funny.

Chewing out a rhythm on my bubble gum
The sun is out and I want some
It's not hard, not far to reach, we can hitch a ride to Rockaway Beach
Up on the roof, out on the street
Down in the playground, the hot concrete
Bus ride is too slow, they blast out the disco on the radio

Rock-rock, Rockaway Beach
Rock-rock, Rockaway Beach
Rock-rock, Rockaway Beach
We can hitch a ride to Rockaway Beach

Rock-rock, Rockaway Beach
Rock-rock, Rockaway Beach
Rock-rock, Rockaway Beach
We can hitch a ride to Rockaway Beach

Drive 100 miles to see a nude beach? Never thought it was that big a deal. Of course I went to university at UBC which sits on a cliff above Vancouver's most famous nude beach called Wreck Beach. The trail down is a little bit steep but not that tough. Of course even in high school we used to run down to the creek for our PE class with the teacher and go skinny dipping and YMCA pools were nude (although not mixed).

The place we vacation each year in St. Martin is adjacent to a nude beach. In general there is an understanding that the nude people stay in their area of the beach. Because it is a big tourist area the local police will ask ask any wandering stray nudes to go back to their area or cover up. It seems to work pretty well for everybody as it is the busiest beach on the island.

What is interesting is when people on cruise ship tours show up they tend to unload right at the border of the nude and clothed area. It is good people watching to see how different people and children react.

I would be interested in you list of "other reasons that benefit everyone".

Same reasons it's inconvenient to let babies and toddlers sit bare assed on public seats.

Dirty butts. Unscheduled bouts of diarrhea.

Public nudity is more akin to a principle that society should dictate how we act in public. I think a nudist walking around the streets is an example of your principle that one's tastes should dictate repression.

I wonder if it is or would be as much misery created by the words "everything should be allowed"?

Society is not the government.

Blacks should not be allowed to attend white schools.
Catholics should not be allowed to run for high office.
Christians should not be allowed to live unless they sacrifice to Caesar.

See the point?
