Seriously, not really.

But the CEO did proclaim the carrier will never again lose money (http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2017/09/29/americans-ceo-claims-the-airline-will-never-lose-money-again/), and the only way any business can possibly keep from ever losing money is to shut the company down.

That aside, it's a singularly unwise statement to make:

1) Try and convince anyone that "unfair" foreign competition is a threat to your existence, when you won't ever lose money ever again.

2) Try and talk the various employees unions out of a massive raise, when you won't ever lose money ever again.

3) Try and justify new fees, when you won't ever lose money ever again.

4) Try and raise fares, when you won't ever lose money ever again.

5) Try a fuel surcharge even when oil hits $200 per barrel, when you won't ever lose money ever again.

You know, if Ancient Greek culture had given the world nothing but a warning against hubris, it would have been enough.
