You're driving by yourself late at night on a empty stretch of road, dark on a starless night.

You see someone standing by the side of the road. As your headlight fully illuminates the lone figure, you see that the person looks exactly like you. Not only that, they are wearing the exact same clothes as you are wearing at the moment.

Would you stop?
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

If its my doppleganger from a parallel universe, I'd run him over to put him out of misery.

Note: My headlights never fully illuminate anything as the plastic covering is opaque from blown dirt or the like. Also since I would be coming from a casino, this had better not be happening if I'm lugging some winnings home 'cause then I ain't pickin' up nobody, never.

Yes. What are the odds I'd drive by a guy who's also not wearing pants?

Hahahaha! Got me laughing. Especially since I'm also not wearing pants.

I don't know if I'd stop. I'd want more info to say for sure. But likely I would pass by, then circle back cautiously.

Why would you? You are alone, possibly an unarmed, Brit on a dark road on a starless, cloudy night. If ever the caution to not pick up strangers was salient, this is it.
Mind you, I'd stop at the next services for an espresso.

or... maybe we are both in military uniform with the same regimental haircut and camaflage clothes and headgear and that's why we look the same.
Or maybe we were on a stag night all in fancy dress?

I'd stop. Certainly out of curiosity at least.

If a supernatural or alien entity has managed to clone an exact duplicate of your, and put him in your same clothes, then you might as well stop. If it is evil then the plan can't hinge on you stopping your car or not, so you might as well stop just to satisfy your curiosity

This is a variation on my feeling about shutting down the borders after 9-11. If a terrorist organization went through all that trouble there is no way they are going to not have a plan to get through the border (possibly the weakest link in the entire chain). So why shut down the borders?
