I sense a crash coming. Happened last time they hit $1,000. On one hand, I just heard on a podcast if just 1 in 10 people in the USA bought and kept them then none could circulate. Just thinking it is getting ahead of itself. The President is a fink. |

Certainly http://www.cray.com/ But if you are renting time on a Cray your costs will probably exceed the value of the bitcoin. Mining bitcoins has become a professional occupation with specialized equipment. |

I wouldn't touch bitcoin with somebody elses money, let alone my own. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Thanks. But I said "get my hands on" a Cray, not "rent one." I imagine sneaking into a super-high-tech computing center at the Pentagon, and inserting the USB into the convenient terminal. Then of course the program would take three more seconds to run than it takes to call security. What? It works in the movies! Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Fleastiff Member since: Oct 27, 2012 Threads: 62 Posts: 7831 | What about these various MeetUp groups that met for coffee and info exchange over bitcoins? Surely they didn't own super computers but were simply ordinary techie types with somewhat high end home computers. what was it that happened to take bitcoins out of the realm of PCs? |

I think harder and harder to mine. One thing keeps me away is I don't remotely understand the math of it. The President is a fink. |

It took one year to reach a penny. It took two years for bitcoins to reach $1. In much of that time you could mine bitcoins with personal computers.
