Midgets (can I still safely use that term?)

I think they're known as Little A-Holes
now, or something like that. It's coming
out that the Little A-Holes in the Wiz
of Oz abused the crap out of Judy Garland
on the set.

In the book, Luft - who died in 2005 - is reported to have claimed: "They'd make Judy's life miserable on set by putting their hands under her dress... The men were 40 or more years old. "They thought they could get away with anything because they were so small," it's claimed.

Although the official cause of death wasn't released AFAIK, TMZ has a transcript of the 911 call from Harry Anderson's wife.

Quote:
Morgan told the operator that she believed her husband died during the night and was "too far gone" to be revived with CPR, reported London's Daily Mail.

"I mean I - I’m in disbelief. I look at him and I feel like (should) I see him breathing," the Daily Mail reported her saying. Later, she said his fingers were "purplish" and she could not move his head or face.

They had gone to bed at 9 or 10 p.m. and that was the last time she had heard him speak, the Daily Mail quotes her as saying.

Morgan also told the operator that Anderson had suffered strokes in January after a bout of the flu, reported the Daily Mail and TMZ.

George HW Bush in intensive care with a blood infection.

I don't think anyone will be surprised if he passes so soon after Barbara.

Having had one myself, I think this could be it. I have a feeling he will be gone within a week.

One of my theories on death is the unfortunate aggregate of multiple minor causes. Cold won't kill you. Three times daily sodium intake won't kill you. Hearing really bad personal news won't kill you. Strenuous work won't kill you.

If all 4 happen on the same day, you may just drop dead before it's over.

But a major infection and his advanced age. I'd say his odds are really poor.

This was written about in another thread, but I believe the will to live is very important in borderline cases. I think GHWB has likely lost that with Barbara having gone before him. I wouldn't blame him. I would want to go in his shoes too.

Yep, I'm starting to mourn him already. The best Republican president since Ford -- by default.

You mean best since Reagan, who was the
best of the 20th century.

No, I most certainly do not mean that. I'll give Reagan high marks for charisma but that is about it. I'd even take him over Bush 43 or Trump, if forced to choose the lesser of evils.

"President Reagan's policies brought us out of stagflation that we had been in for nearly two decades. Oversaw a rise the economy and created millions of jobs. He also restored faith in America and patriotism. The National Geographic Channel had a three part documentary called "The 80's the decade that made us". It really shows how so many entreprenuers created the things we enjoy today like PC's, Cellphones, home entertainment like the VCR and so many other things that not only America, but most of the world enjoy today, all because of the Reagan economy.. He had vision enough to see that the Soviet Union was a country that was rotting from within. He knew that there was no way that socialism could possibly keep up with capitalism in a military buildup. He ended the Cold War."
