You know who you're talking to, right? lol I don't have the PA accent (sure = shore, sorry = sore-ry). I use meelworms at the steelmill while eating peenuts all day long. And oddly, the proper noun version is usually "ee". Cattaraugus Creek, Clear Creek, Big Sister's Creek. Common noun, though, creek sounds weird. Almost pretentious, like rolling your R's when ordering carne asada "I'm going down to the creek" just sounds impatient and confrontational. "Downda crick" is more where I'll be. Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |
