Starts airing tonight. 02/26/18.

A co-operative production between the BBC and AMC.

A drama based on Misha Glenny's McMafia but its hard to dramatize the activities of CEOs of international crime cartels. All they do is lead the life of a wealthy man and occasional give orders to kill someone or transfer millions of dollars. Not very exciting to see a mouse click depicted.

I think they plan to do a six parter on Glenny's Battle for Rio which shows a crime ridden slum being controlled by a man with an advanced degree in mathematics. Its a bit hard to depict such things.

Can't figure out what time tonight that it airs... all my cable guide shows for all channels is No Information Available. I think I'm starting to get the same error message on my biological hard drive too.

Despite the shortcomings of trying to depict a non-action show as if was an action show, I hope youze all enjoys it.

What a let down.

I couldn't keep track of who was who. Half the dialog was masked by party noise.

I quite enjoyed it. Exotic filming locales, smart writing, Russian/British intrigue, like a made-for-TV Bond flick. I bet in future episodes we see the British banker return to his Russian roots and get his hands dirty protecting his banking fund. McMafia is a terrible title for this stylish drama though.

It was the title of his book which was a non-fiction work. The title in China is The Godmans.

When I heard this
My 1st thought
some kind of a fast food mafia show lol
Trying to hit up Mcdonalds for protection money is what I was thinking seeing the title
Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World"

I enjoyed the second episode but still remained confused at times as to what locale the action is taking place in and who is who.

Anyway its more interesting than a fast-food shake down would be.

I put in request for Glenny's "Nemisis" on the Rio de Janiero King of the Thieves guy.

It will be two weeks before the next episode. Still a bit confusing and some dialog is lost in background noise.

Its real difficult to make a mouse click exciting and the conversation about computer security techniques was far too brief to maintain a level of interest.

Series finale was a bit predictable.
I think the show needed more establishment shots as to locale and I for one was confused all the time as to who was who particularly if they are all wearing tuxedos.

Interesting but a bit annoying as well.
