Clearly George Clooney recovered nicely with Perfect Storm, Oceans 11,12,13 and many artistically recognized movies. But the other four actors never appeared in a $100 million film again (excepting Terminator 3). And they all had promising careers.


They do anything they can to make films look unprofitable. In the early 2000s Henry Hill claimed he still had not gotten any back-end and that the studio execs were worse crooks than anything he dealt with in the mafia.

Well it looks like OZ opened to $80 million domestically. That puts it over at least 4 of the mostly older billion dollar movies.
As I said earlier it is not as important how the USA box office does, but the worldwide reception. But it looks like they will try and turn it into a franchise, and make a James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, and Rachel Weisz much wealthier than they are already.
