Every now and then I hear a song with an unforgettable turn of phrase. Some are just cheap wordplay like "if I said you had a beautiful body would you hold it against me?" I prefer lines that are heartfelt and humorous. You probably remember:
"The last thing I needed the first thing this morning is to have you walk out on me " -Willie Nelson
"I now pronounce you 99 to life, son she's no lady she's your wife "- Lyle Lovett

Pop/rock has some of these, but country has perfected the art. Here's a couple you probably haven't heard:

From a song about rural life
"we've got amber waves of grain and bathtub speed. Now we even got Starbucks, what else you need" - Robert Earl Keen

This one could be a sig line for some of you
"Married life fit like a glove, kinda tight and kinda thin." - Tish Hinojosa
The mind hungers for that on which it feeds.

I like this one

"Delilah Jones was the mother of twins,
Two times over and the rest were sins.
Raised eight boys, only I turned bad,
Didn't get the lickin's that the other ones had."

Grateful Dead - Brown - Eyed Women
Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World"

"People say I got a drinkin' problem, but I got no problem drinkin' at all"

Drinkin' Problem
Song by Midland

One more night, one more down
One more, one more round
First one in, last one out
Giving this town lots to talk about
They don't know what they don't know
People say I've got a drinkin' problem
That ain't no reason to stop
People sayin' that I've hit rock bottom
Just 'cause I'm living on the rocks
It's a broken hearted thinkin' problem
So pull that bottle off the wall
People say I got a drinkin' problem
But I got no problem drinkin' at all
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I knew you'd offer a good one from the Dead. I alway thought this line from Truckin was funny.
"I'd like to get some sleep before I travel
But if you got a warrant I guess you're gonna come in"
The mind hungers for that on which it feeds.

All that a man really needs is a horse you can catch when you need em
a dog that'll come when you call
a good friend who owns an arena and a trailer that's legal to haul
a woman who'll share my frustrations when the cow market's fallin' apart
a pair of good spurs
a saddle that fits
and a 1 ton Ford pickup that starts.
Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it.

Four walls at midnight sittin' on the edge of my bed
One hand holdin' a can the other one's a holdin' my head
Lord I wish I'd never met you oh honey look what you've done to me
I feel I'm walkin' down a dead end street with a black hearse followin' me

Woe is me when I'm drinking tryin' to drown a mem'ry of you
Low is me when I'm sinking with a case of the Blue Ribbon blues

Six-pack after six-pack a hardship case of the blues
The first of the month’s looking at me your charge accounts they're all due
Lord I bet he’s out there laughin' out loud how you made a broken man out of me
I thought I had a ticket for a two way love but you wanted your ride for free

Woe is me when I'm drinking tryin' to drown a mem'ry of you
Low is me when I’m sinking with a case of the Blue Ribbon blues.

— Gary Stewart, “Blue Ribbon Blues”

It’s even better when you hear it. Stewart was one mean, nasty drunk.
