Food is wonderful and cheap. Wine is only a Euro a glass and they sometimes just leave the bottle on the table. People are friendly. Lots to do. Great subway in Barcelona. I've been to most countries in western Europe and think Spain offers the best bang for your Euro. No disrespect to the UK, OD, but London is so dang expensive. No offence taken. I wouldn't want to live in London and it is stupid expensive compared to the provinces. I'm not generally keen on cities and though I've visited Barcelona and Paris, twice each, they didn't float my boat. I much prefer Spanish coastal resorts where culture is a distant second to incredibly cheap dining and drinking and tacky cabarets. Off to Benidorm in May. If you really want cheap and fun, try the Black Sea resort of Sunny Beach. That's a tourist hotspot that's poular with Russians and Eastern Europeans as well as Western Europeans. Oh, and count me in for 56. Grudge match!!! |
