No sin here either, no god to sin against. No need for guilt at all. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

That is the kind of mentality serial killers have. Do you think there is no "sin" in driving drunk and killing innocent people? I'd certainly feel guilty about it and not out of religious reasons but for harming my fellow man. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

It's grossly irresponsible to drink and drive, but god could care less because he doesn't exist. Does drunk driving offend god, because that's what sin is. sin: a transgression against divine law sin: disobedience to the known will of God There is no god. I have yet to read or hear what sins Jesus died for. The more FrG explains it, the less sense it makes.
That has nothing to do with sin. Morality is from us, not from some non existent god. Atheists are some of the most moral people on earth. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

FrGamble Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 67 Posts: 7596 | Bob, first of all there is a God. Secondly, Jesus Christ died for all the sins of humanity; past, present, and future. All of them. Is this clear? Even if you don't yet get where morality comes from I am glad you realize the reality of sin as doing something we know we shouldn't do and the natural feelings of guilt believers and unbelievers feel as a result of these transgressions that everyone understands as sins. I get that you have your favorite theological definition but you at least obviously understand the concept. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

Earlier you wrote, "no need for guilt at all." This doesn't seem to jive with the post above. If you got drunk, killed a straight-A college student, would you feel guilt? Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

I don't drink and drive, ever. I'm not big on guilt, I try and avoid things that I know are improper and would make me feel guilt later. Guilt is a funny emotion. Once you have it, there is no place to go with it to get relief. This is why Xtionity uses guilt as a tool, if they can make you feel guilty, they have you. They know you can't make the guilt go away, so they trick you with their fake god into thinking the god will forgive you if you just do what the religion says. That's why so many ex Catholics say it took them years to get over the guilt the Church instilled in them all their lives.. Want to be guilt free? Don't cheat on your wife, don't kick dogs or small children, be nice to old people, don't steal your relatives social security check. Don't do things that you know are against your moral code and you'll have nothing to feel guilty about. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Prove it. Oops, I forgot, you already tried that and failed. All you're left with is faith, and that and a dollar will get you a cheese burger off the dollar menu at McD's. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

No. Sounds like his fault. Maybe if he was an A student though ;-). Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |
