It's gods followers that gall me, not the myth of god.
That's why I try and never do anything I'll regret later. It's called living responsibly, you should try it. It will cut your going to confession time down to nothing. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I do try it, I try very hard to live responsibly. I even try to be better each and every day and improve myself. But alas I am not as perfect as you and I make mistakes. I also sometimes find in myself this strange resistance towards doing what I know would make me happier and healthier and holier. Do you ever feel that? “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

Nope. I make it a point to be doing what I want to be doing 99% of the time. It's a selfish way to live, but I hate having regrets. When I try and think of what I would do differently, I come up with very few things. Having a life of regrets is one of the stupidest things you can do, and so avoidable. Just think ahead and always try and keep your options open, be a slave to nothing. I know so many guys who work at jobs they hate just for the money and benefits. I have never done that, as soon as I dislike a job, I get out. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Absolutely. But so is everybody, people very seldom do anything they don't want to do. Psychologists say there really aren't any selfless acts. Joseph Campbell tells the story of a cop who saved a suicidal guy from jumping off a bridge. He grabbed him as he jumped and the cop would have gone over too if his partner hadn't grabbed his legs at the last second. Asked why he did it, the first cop later said he couldn't have lived with himself if he didn't try to save the guy. Most so called selfless acts are really not selfless at all. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

People generally follow the path of least resistance. Stockholm syndrome on a global scale. The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |
