I love slingshots, I had one in the 70's.
Very accurate and destructive for shooting
ball bearings. The German guy in the video
is serious. I like the Gatling slingshot.

Yup. I have always been an info geek,
I took library science in college. I try
and learn something every day.

Youtube is wonderful for tutorials
on how to do something or figure
out what's wrong. It's like having
instant access to a dozen encyclopedias.

It is better than that as it tells you how not just about. I got a bunch of smoothie and cooking ideas from one called "The Domestic Geek." A buddy of mine makes fun of YT and podcasts. He says, "just anyone can make a video or blog, you don't know their qualifications."

My retort is that I do not care. I can decide for myself if they are qualified, I do not need some program director to do so for me. There are now 350,000+ podcasts. I rarely listen to radio in the car anymore, either a podcast or enjoy the quiet.

I thought of doing a YT like channel for landman work, but I am not set up for it. So many people have a skillset that others can use, even if for just a short period of time. What I have to wonder is just how much has and is YT eating into some of the cable shows? For example, Paige Davis was kind of nice to watch, but "Trading Spaces" was near useless if you wanted to do a remodel. Has to be 1,000 or more better resources on YT. And with YT, once you start watching you have that "suggested effect" that keeps you there all day. For TV, ratings have to be down because of this.

I just watched a dozen videos on the
Biltmore estate in NC. I want to visit
there and learned what it's all about.

When Google bought YT what is now way back, everyone thought they overpaid. I as well as many barely knew what YT was. It was just starting to catch. What I do not get is why there has not been any effective imitator. For as great as it is, I can see a few ways a second player could get strong.

--A better split on revenue would make more content providers switch. Of course many would just post at both places, but it is an opening.

--YT has been hit with claims of censoring content they do not like, often from right of center posters. A provider with a more open policy would get traction. As long as you are not showing how to commit a crime, make it welcome?

--While YT lets you organize things pretty good, surely someone can do it better. I watch "Autoline" on a daily basis there. Usually it shows up in my subscriptions, but not always. Better interface can do wonders.

What is scary is when you see 10 year old videos. Also scary is when it used to show you how many videos you have watched. I imagine I am well over 15-20,000.

This is the great stuff we saw in 1965.
All the people in this scene are gone
now.

From what I read the directors loved Clary and hated Crane.

Barbara Feldon and Bernie Kopell (Get Smart's agent 99 and Sigfried) are still alive. Bernie Kopell is also well known as 'Doc' from "Love Boat"

Just watched a Get Smart video on YT last night.
