Pages and pages, I looked briefly, my take was it was about two female movie makers wanting to show the female side of explicit videos? A friends daughter once told me, she had been asked to "flash" some early promoter of Girls gone wild, and she did. She also asked several of us adults to not watch GGW for a few weeks, which I obliged. Now I am curious as she is over 30, and quite attractive.

I found the link informative, and interesting that porn is the new sex education for many, many youngsters, who probably shouldn't also derive their sexual morals from adult porn? The whole genre of dating and relationships has long since changed since I was in the market. I am sincerely glad that I am not in that group anymore, I wouldn't cope well.

The key is to catch on with regular viewers. Regulars like new girls, so a new girl willing to do whatever on camera will get a following for a short time. There becomes the occasional "star" whom the regular viewers will keep wanting to see, but 99% will be worn out and unsalable after just a few months at most.

The sun and moon pass the sky many times, the films get made. And the girls keep getting off the bus, each hoping to be the next Amber Lynn.

I remember some "home brew" industry, even husband and wife doing porn production out of their home. I imagine that was initially pretty lucrative, but competition is too easy, so probably not so much now.

The way I always heard the industry was it effectively started in the 1970s. Before this there were smut films but hard to get and not worth mention to the modern industry. By the 70s you had the adult shop and theater. People *went* to the movies. Because of this, there were decent budgets and the producers took themselves half serious as film producers. The mafia had a lock on distribution, of course.

By the 80s and VCRs, nobody wanted to go out to a theater and sit in who knows what, instead just buy a tape. This loosened mafia control and new producers made many more films. More films meant less budget for each, so quality of "story" fell. One actress was on some show about the industry and said in the 70s they had wardrobe and make-up departments for the films. But in the 80s you were expected to show up ready to go on camera.

By the 90s any couple could film themselves and put it online. Places like youporn just make it even easier. A few production houses remain, and I remember in one of those shows the woman saying the best you could do was to be a "Vivid Girl," "Vivid" being the best production house and they still give push to their stars.

Otherwise, it appears the industry is mostly back to pre-1970s. Cheap films of two or a few people getting it on with minimal thought to production or backstory. Maybe it one day goes back to 70s-style making a "movie" not a smut film?

Sounds like a thing about 20 years ago where teen girls would ask guys to send various electronic swag and then pose with it for them. Some guys are idiots.
