Thanks Being from the east coast, generally an early riser when in town due to body clock so kind of used to seeing empty streets in the early morning but not this empty How many miles was the ride? Did security ever question you? I don't think Vegas will recover. The world is changing. I don't think the country will have the disposable income Vegas needs to survive Prediction, no new casino across the street from the Wynn and no new casino downtown. Kind of sucks because I was looking forward to them Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

You're welcome.
Me neither. I've lived here 19 years and have never seen anything to compare to it.
About 40.
Nope. I was concerned in a few spots, but nobody ever said a word to me.
I think we will.
I don't want to go down that path, but I'm optimistic. Other threads are more appropriate for CV predictions.

40 miles, I'm impressed. No bet because I'm rooting for Vegas. I really hope you are right. I think its a good bet but it would be a depressing win. Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

I'm surprised it lasted this long. It's downfall started 25 years ago with the Indian casinos. Vegas is like the roaming carnivals that went from town to town from the 1890's to the 50's. TV killed them dead, but a few lingered on into the 70's. Vegas is not unique anymore. Last time I was there I realized what a pain in the ass it is, everything is so spread out. Even in the casino you're staying at, everything is a hike away. In an Indian joint, everything is right there. The slots and table games and buffet. Even the parking is just outside the doors or in the garage. You're right, Vegas will never be what it was after this. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Wizard Administrator Member since: Oct 23, 2012 Threads: 239 Posts: 6095 | I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Stephen King's 'The Stand' yet. I've read most of his stuff. If forced, I would say it is his best work. A huge book about a virus that kills some 99.99% of the population, while the survivors are completely immune. It was made into a mini-series a while back. Here is the opening scene, which depicts the laboratory where the virus was created and accidentally escapes. Direct: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7QRsx9lbBU Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |
