I think it will prove to have been a significant event in race relations both here and there. I didn't realize she was black until the day before the wedding, just didn't care, I guess. But it seems to have been a big deal that she is.

I had no idea until the media hype right before. She can call herself whatever she likes, but she looks 3/4 to 7/8 white to me. This going off her mother too, who looks whiter than Obama, who is half white. Whatever the case, I'm all in favor of mixed marriages.
