Vampires are boring now.. They will never get that chemistry the orig cast had, it's not possible. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I like Star Wars because its big budget movie science fiction but I don't think its great science fiction writing I hear Asimov's Foundation has been green lit by Apple for a new video service still in development Now that's good science fiction writing Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

Yup, I thought so too. I was in my 40's when I watched the 3rd season. I was hooked, one of the most entertaining tongue in cheek humor shows ever on TV. It was serious and very funny and campy and intellectual, all at once. You should avoid it entirely, not up your ally.. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Sarah Michelle Gellar was just shy of age 20 when the show debuted, but she was playing a high school student. The show was widely recognized at the time as a teen show that was very appealing to adults. So much so, that they spun off a second series that was much more written for adults. The TV show takes about 10 minutes in the first episode to completely subvert decades of standard horror movies. Not all teens can appreciate the brilliance of Joss Whedon's writing. One particular episode of Buffy, "The Body", has been called the best episode of TV ever written.
I found LOTR and Dune almost unwatchable as movies, and they were some of the greatest books ever written. |

Buffy never takes itself very seriously. There are serious episodes, but most of the time it's pure camp. I love how halfway thru the series Buffy all of a sudden has a never seen before sister. It was a brilliant move. And the characters of Spike and Angel and pack of Scooby Doo's that surround Buffy, made it one of the most fun shows on TV. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Vampire parties, vampire products such as fake blood abounded, etc. This seems to have run its course and been replaced by a focus on comic book characters who are possessed of superhuman abilities such as strength, flight, etc. Buffy The Vampire Slayer was, it seems, a bi-modal TV show. That is a show that captures a young audience in the early hours but also appeals to an older crowd so that once the viewers are captured they stay tuned and later shows reap the benefits of high audience ratings. I would imagine the re-launch is an attempt to focus more on the adult appealing elements though I'm not sure what those might be or were then. |

It's a desperate attempt to relive past glories. If it comes to be, I predict a cancelled show in 13 weeks. I have zero interest in vamps, been there and it's boring now. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
