Kamala Harris Supports ‘Some Type of’ Slavery Reparations

https://www.citizenfreepress.com/breaking/kamala-i-want-reparations/

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/02/11/kamala-harris-supports-some-type-of-slavery-reparations/

Quote:
“Where do you stand on some form of reparations for black people? Here you see Mayor De Blasio saying the marijuana economy could be a form of reparations. Marianne Williamson says black people should get a hundred billion in slave reparations–like, where do you stand on it?” Charlamagne asked.

Harris responded:
Well look, I think that we have got to address that again, it’s back to the inequities. There, through–look, America has a history of 200 years of slavery. We had Jim Crow. We had legal segregation in America for a very long time. The Voting Rights Act was only strong for 50 years and then they wiped it out with this United States Supreme Court in the Shelby decision, to the point that 22 states immediately thereafter put in place laws that one court found were crafted with surgical precision to have black people not be able to vote.”

So we’ve got to recognize, back to that earlier point, people aren’t starting out on the same base, in terms of their ability to succeed and so we have got to recognize that and give people a lift up. And, there are a number of ways to do it. Part of my initiative again around the ‘Lift Act’ is that same point–you lifting people up who are making less than a hundred thousand dollars a year. What I want to do about rent is the same thing. What we need to do around education and understanding disparities, what we need to do around HBCUs. But we have a history of racism in America.

Charlamagne asked again, “So you are for some type of reparations?”

“Yes I am, yes I am,” Harris responded.

How does she propose to determine which blacks have lineage to actual slaves?

"Some type of reparations" might be some kind of affirmative action program, lowering low-income taxes, or increased spending on schools in low-income areas, as opposed to handing out checks. I think she will water down the statement when asked by a more moderate interviewer.

Good point. Since 1865 a ton of
blacks have come here from
Africa and had tons more kids.

Starting about the 2:10 point in the video, Trump says that he would pay the million if "she takes the test and it shows she is an Indian."

The big question is what does it mean to be an "Indian." I hate to get into percentages, but a smidgen of Indian blood should not qualify as being an Indian. So, I have to take Trump's side on this one.

This isn't current practice, but once upona time in American history, the "one drop rule" was used, particularly when classifying someone as black or not.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/One-drop_rule

"Virginia's one-fourth standard remained in place until 1910, when the standard was changed to one sixteenth. In 1924, under the Racial Integrity Act, even the one sixteenth standard was abandoned in favor of a more stringent standard. The act defined a person as legally "colored" (black) for classification and legal purposes if the individual had any African ancestry."

This effectively ostracized large chunks of people. They were not considered white enough to be white, nor were they considered black enough to be black.

This next bit is only slightly amusing because of the name Pocahontas being used:

"In the case of mixed-race American Indian and European descendants, the one-drop rule in Virginia was extended only so far as those with more than one-sixteenth Indian blood. This was due to what was known as "the Pocahontas exception". Since many influential First Families of Virginia (FFV) claimed descent from the American Indian Pocahontas and her husband John Rolfe of the colonial era, the Virginia General Assembly declared that an individual could be considered white if having no more than one-sixteenth Indian "blood" (the equivalent of one great-great-grandparent)."

Similarly, you wouldn't be accepted into a tribe without at least 25% (grandparent) relation by native blood.

She may try to water it down, but you can believe she wants checks sent out. This group is very radical.

the name Pocahontas
.

I believe that's the only famous Indian
woman people relate to. If it was guy
faking it, he would be Geronimo or
Sitting Bull.

I Googled famous Indians and there
were only 2 women, the other is
Sacajawea. Which I'm betting most
people under 40 have never heard
of.

Do you have to be a native american to claim native american heritage or ancestry?

Anyone can claim it, as Warren did.

But if you are not an Indian your claim will be false.

Warren is as much an Indian as that crying Indian from the 1970s or Chief Jay Strongbow.

Exactly. He is using it to throw it back on her what she did. Isn't it funny when liberals complain about a "racist" word yet defend a woman's racism in claiming to be an Indian to get special treatment?

Fooled you too.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?
