Boeing is forced to abandon automation!
Tail assemblies will be performed by human technicians and robots will no longer be used.

That is horrible news. The engineers that design the robots, the people that manufacture them will be out of work.
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent.

Production will not be suspended until January. JP Morgan still estimates that Boeing will only reduce costs by 50% by suspending production, from $2 billion to $1 billion per month.

boeing just announced that two wires controlling the tail assembly's motion are thought to be in excessive proximity to each other and could easily involve crosstalk and overheating.

Sorry. No link because New York Times is paywalled to me. Model was 737max with no further info that I recall. This will be time consuming HARDWARE fix and TESTING, not just the SOFTWARE 'fix' that was originally contemplated.

Another crash of a Ukranian International Airlines B738 just after takeoff from Tehran. UIA has 22 such jets ranging in age from 20.6 Years to 1.7 Years.

The jet that crashed was their 6th youngest jet (out of 22)

no indication of cause of a one hour delayed takeoff.
no indication of type or degree of maintenance efforts.
fod??foreign object debris is common.
yet inability to use radio is strange.
