It is a rule of etiquette I firmly believe in, although there are exceptions to most things. If you're not happy to be on someone else's property, then quit complaining and just leave. This what I never understood about consummate complainers over at WoV -- if you don't like it, just leave.

I admit I violated etiquette, that is why I need to confess and serve a penance. Yes, I'd feel the same way about a Walmart marking lot, but they would probably tow a vehicle that was left overnight.

They wouldn't even notice. They encourage
people to sleep in their cars overnight if
they have to. I was just watching a PCT
hiking video and they drove from N WA
to Alabama in an SUV and slept in a
Walmart lot every night because Walmart
says it's OK.

Hi Wiz,
You have a god conscience and heart. Even though this event was not premeditated or planned and in some ways was kind of an emergency situation you still rightly feel bad about breaking their house rules and taking advantage of them. I think your penance should be an anonymous letter to them explaining the situation you were in and expressing your contrition. I don't think there is any need for a monetary reimbursement or a need to gamble or buy anything in their casino. God Bless you!
