Didn't know she was still alive. Amazing how many stars of the Hollywood Royalty era we say that about.
Actually the end of that era could be a thread of itself.

I had a big crush on her in HS.
Always thought she was hot
in her's 50's and early 60's
movies. I bet I've seen Pillow
Talk a dozen times, it's still
funny.

The first half of her life didn't
go well. Her third husband
squandered all the money she
made in the movies. She was
broke when she started her
TV show. in 1968. Then in
the second half her only child
Terry Melcher died in 2004.

She disappeared after 1975 and
lived alone after she divorced her
4th husband in 82.

She had cultivated an image that didn't really fit with a life that went to crap on the personal side Nowadays, an actress would come out and spill it all over the airwaves, but I think she became reclusive as a result. More famous people hid behind their published facades then, and the studios supported that as well.

And some cracked up and went into mental wards or drank, or otherwise destroyed their health etc., under that stress.

She was in her 50's when her show went
off, and she looked it. Many actresses
careers end around that time. Most of
the actresses that were big in 80's 90's
are gone now. They hit they're expiration
date..

It's not often I can say this anymore, but she was before my time.

That's too bad, she was hot in
her day. She was known as the
eternal virgin because she
never gave it up. Great ass,
though. I loved her dearly..

3 years older than my mother.
Go figure..
