Because if they're pre-boarding on Southwest as a "customer of size," that means they have two seats, one of which will be empty.

Even if the flight is sold out, there will still be an empty seat next to them because they've reserved two. They give them a little flyer that they put on the empty seat that says "seat reserved" and I take the seat next to it.
