If FrGamble ever shows up again, ask him if people should be thankful for basic ordinary things. It's so common a sentiment what you said is the actual crazy thing.

I admit that I should have listened to the interview before commenting on the headlines. In context, she really is speaking in the same jist as someone who says "I was born with legs, so I can't really understand the trauma of needing a wheelchair my whole life".

... sicko misgendered dopes wandering around trying to play the sympathy/victim card.

I agree with Paco -- there is nothing racist in this post nor is there anything advocating violence
if "sicko" or "dope" is vulgar then I need a new dictionary

Why him specifically, who set him up
as an expert on anything. What makes
him more of an authority on what we
should be 'thankful' for. His opinion
is just as valid as anybody elses.

The race/victim card is huge these days.
Rush made a good point last week. If
having 'white privilege' gets you
everything you want in life, why are
so many people trying to claim they're
black or native American.

Because those are the real privileged
people, not whites. It got Fauxcahontas,
into Harvard, and that guy from India
into 6 upper tier colleges when he
pretended to be black.

Is there anybody out there pretending
to be white and trying to get all those
'white privileges'? I don't think so.

Being thankful for something basic and considering it “privileged” are two different things.

Why should anyone be "thankful" for a gender, sexual orientation (born this way) or race? These are all immutable - it would be like being thankful for oxygen

Sure, you can be thankful you were born in America and not the Congo, but that is geography, not immutable characteristics of merely being born

The only things you can be truly
thankful for are your own actions,
things you have actual control
over. Everything else in your life
is out of your power to control.

Who your parents are, where you
were born, your IQ, how wealthy
your family is, on and on. Who
would you be 'thanking' for these
things anyway, random chance?
That's just silly.

I can only be thankful for the good
decisions I made, and the bad ones
I didn't make. There would be a lot
more happy people if this was their
attitude. Instead of carrying a grudge
over things they had no control over,
they should take action to change
what they can.

(I know, I know, people love to thank
some invisible god for everything.
But that's just a cop out for taking
responsibility for your life, blame
it all on some god instead, or fate,
or destiny. That's more silly than
blaming random chance.)

Oxygen. Yeah, people aren't thankful for water either until they don't have any. If your car rolls over and you're stuck trapped hidden at the bottom of a ravine, you can remember all the stuff you will be missing that was very ordinary.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

If you need to be thankful, be thankful
to all the smart people that came before
you that worked their brains and asses
off to give us the modern wonders
we take for granted.

Thanking some invisible god for
things you had no control over is
a ridiculous waste of time. I'd rather
thank Einstein and Edison and
Newton..
