Didn't AOC complain she almost starved in college because someone hid her food stamps underneath her work shoes? The President is a fink. |

Only thing she ever got right. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

She bashed UBI? Maybe she actually did learn something in college. UBI is economically impossible. The President is a fink. |

She called it "regressive" which I assume is being used in the way a universal tax rate is "regressive". |

She called it regressive because she claimed it was going to be used to cut all other social welfare programs. |

She did not make an economic arguements. She claimed it was a trojan horse as a pretense to cut social welfare programs. But, no it is not impossible. |

That makes more sense she said it that way. Sorry, it is impossible. If you understand science anyhow. In fantasyland it works. The President is a fink. |

I don't want to get back into it in this thread. But, there is much evidence that it is very doable. I am not sure about science, but I think the highest Math authority here, and also was an IRS Agent is the Wizard, and he supports it (as per his most recent posting). And, lots of high level tech people openly support it. So the idea that only math and science lacking people endorse it is simply not true. |

No, there is no evidence it will work. A small experiment here or there does not show anything. I will say it again, WEALTH CANNOT BE CREATED FROM NOTHING. If you want to prove me wrong, take the apple challenge. We will meet at a suite at Belagio. I will put an empty bowl on the table. You can bring any person you want, scientist, economist, anything. Must enter the room with empty pockets. Fill the bowl with apples, or the dollar value, OUT OF THIN AIR, and I will admit defeat. Because UBI believers think wealth comes from thin air. They do not realize wealth given to one must be stolen from another. And "another" soon gets tired of being stolen from and quits creating the wealth. For every socialist society you can point to that "works" I will point to 10 that were filled with starving people.
Wiz worked for the Social Security department. Wiz has thanked me for more than one reply breaking monetary policy to a non-economist format. I do not care how many "high tech" people support it, that does not mean it will work. Tech people are often clueless in how economics works. A bunch of tech people can support repealing the law of gravity, that does not make it possible. BTW: The same "tech people" support the government in CA that has turned that state into a 3rd world nation with record poverty and homelessness. Why would you follow them? The President is a fink. |
