The alleged embarrassing typo was "ot" instead of "of" -- meanwhile, the typo is all on protege as the typo does not exist in the version I sent him

He has been an attorney about 6-7 years
He got this job through strange means and was almost immediately made partner despite having hardly any experience
He showed up for his job interview with 5 rabbis and had these rabbis sit in on the job interview
The whole situation is very strange
I call him the protege because he is brand new compared to everyone else here who has been practicing at least 15 years each and, aside from getting clients via these 5 rabbis, doesn't know squat

This is quite bizarre. I have never heard of someone bringing a bunch of rabbis to their job interview. In fact I have never heard of anyone bringing ANYONE to their interview. What have they got to do with anything?

Without knowing anything other than what you have told us it sounds like the firm (or the owner at least) is totally disfunctional.

From that email?

From the confrontational atmosphere.
Somebody is out to get you, or so
it seems from here.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

The hypothesis is that he is the owner's illegitimate son (which makes sense as he was adopted) and the owner buys him all his custom suits and even bought the engagement and wedding rings for his fiancé and him

Just spoke to the Boss — told him the idiot attorney told me he has a new case to work on and he said “no, you are working with me, apparently he forgot” and that he would “set him straight tomorrow”
