There are other possibilities, such as using someone else’s computer, or one from a cell and one from a land line. Or having someone else log in and post. None of those would be identifiable as a sock. Me, I don’t care, other than as an exercise in how to do it. For example, I could call my brother and have him join the forum and support what I post; not a sock. Now, if I went down to the computer at the public library and joined under another name, that would be a sock, but I don’t think it could be detected. Maybe tied to the same city? Idk, I used to know that stuff but it’s been years since I cared about it. |
