I am accepting backers, but think I can do this without them. There are three things I am absolutely bottom 1% of the bell curve horrible at and they are: 1. Golf 2. Communicating with women 3. Sales Once I have a more clear path how I'm going to bring this to life, I'll be better able to answer questions a potential investor might ask, if I get any questions at all. I can say it would be a simple Shark Tank type of arrangement where a percentage point of ownership is sold for $x. I would also be open to discussing some kind of risk layoff on the actual bets until my bankroll is larger. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

I played at Celtic Casino for years, you have an article about it on WoO. It disappeared last spring, poof. Out of business. Doesn't that sort of thing scare you? Will you be using Visionary IGaming like everybody else for the live feed? Did you write about VI on WoO, I can't find a search feature there. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

DJTeddyBear Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 5 Posts: 265 | I’ll just repeat what I posted on Twitter when I first saw the Wizard’s announcement there: Great concept but is it realistic? Even a craps pass line bet has slightly more than 1% edge. Prop bets are higher but popular. What about side bets? Why not just have honest game listings: BJ: x% with optional side bet at xx% 3CP: x% with optional side bet at xx% Etc. Ignorance is bliss and knowledge is power. But having only some facts can get you into trouble! |

Plenty of Internet casinos already honestly report on the odds of their games. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

With "just dice" in Canada, the owner dooglus, did not make sales calls for investors. Anyone logged into the site could choose to be either a gambler or an investor or both. Dooglus was both the operator of a site (for which he took a fee as a tiny tiny percentage of transactions out of the bankroll), but he was also an investor. Maximum bet was constantly recalculated as a percentage of the bankroll available and the odds you chose for your bet. Using the lowest 1% house edge, I think the maximum bet started at 1% of bankroll but quickly moved down to 0.5%. If you changed your bet to a higher house edge (with higher potential returns) the maximum bet dropped accordingly. When the whale, Nakowa won big in 2013 he won 13,000 bitcoins (~@$125/BTC) or about $1.6 million, dooglus made either a panic move or an executive decision to drop the maximum bet to 0.25% of bankroll, after which Nakowa announced that he would no longer play. The investors began an online discussion of the pros or cons and the right to change the maximum bet size without consulting the investors. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=301428.0 AFAIK this ability for anyone to choose to be either a gambler or an investor was first tried on this website. A lot of it was possible because under Canadian law at the time bitcoins were viewed more as collectibles than as negotiable investment instruments. When they changed the Canadian law, the website was still legal, but the owner was required to collect a lot of personal information on the investors as most of them were nothing more than log-in names. |

Wizard Administrator Member since: Oct 23, 2012 Threads: 239 Posts: 6095 | Maximum bets will be significantly less than even 0.25% of bankroll in my case. I plan to open the doors with very small bets, just to keep things friendly and safe to begin with. I'm thinking around a $5 max bet in slots and video poker and $25 on less-volatile games like blackjack. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

Fleastiff Member since: Oct 27, 2012 Threads: 62 Posts: 7831 | Or to make an analogy to a brick and mortar casino, you plan to bring back "the bird games" in craps. Good move! It will be like Benny Binnion's in 1949. Oh sure, inflation will change the actual amounts but its the same principle. Perhaps you can even bring back Binnion's slogan: Your limit is the size of your first bet. |

I love Benny's philosophy of simply offering the player a good value and service. However, I'm not as rich as he was, so can't honor that offer, yet. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |
