As I write this, 153 House members have gone on record to call for impeachment. It takes 218 votes to pass Articles of Impeachment. There are only 45 Democrats in the Senate, so there would have to be some huge political shifts to reach 67 Senators to vote to convict. |

They have no intention of getting rid of Trump, it's just a dog and pony show for the rabid Dem base. We forget what a slam dunk Hillary was in 2016. She was president. Which means 82 Democratic House member have not gone on record. Trump has fewer than 500 days left in this term. What would be the point of an impeachment trial in the first term? They may try if Trump wins re-election. |
