That is remarkable! The 'and removed from office' part makes it clear that they feel he IS guilty of something. So clearly 47% would not vote for him, right? So he only needs a very small amount of voters from the 47% who think he should not be convicted to vote him out in 2020? Can't wait to hear EB's take on this! |

If that is from this poll https://poll.qu.edu/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=3642 here is the change by party democrat from 73% for, 21 against to 90% - 5% independants 34% for 58% against, to 42% for 50% against republicans 7% for, 92% against to 4% for, 95% against. | reno Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 58 Posts: 1384 | After the House of Representatives passes Articles of Impeachment, I'm still expecting the Senate to acquit Trump and let him stay in the White House. But if I'm wrong, and the Senate numbers begin to look bad for the President, Trump has an ace in the hole, a solution to 100% guarantee that GOP Senators will protect him. All Trump has to do is coerce Mike Pence to resign. (He can't fire Pence, but I'm certain Trump could convince Pence to leave.) If Mike Pence leaves office, that puts Nancy Pelosi next in line to the Presidency. And no GOP Senator would ever dream of installing Nancy Pelosi in the White House. Problem solved. |

Which is why many Democrats believe that Nancy Pelosi can remove herself from the line of succession without resigning her position. So if Trump pulls that off with Pence, then 86 year old Chuck Grassley will become POTUS. |
