Sugar attack, sugar jag, etc. Profound somnolence and lethargy after consuming sugar.

I have also really cut down on sugar
About the only sugar I consume is an occasional pastry
Use to drink coffee with a little sugar, I don't do that anymore. Still use cream though

In the 1980's I had the pleasure of being lectured by one of the world's leading nephrologists. He asked us this question.... "How much salt will a human being excrete in one day?" His answer...... barring a specific disease process occurring right now..... "however much salt he takes in!" Or do you think you are getting "saltier and saltier" every day?
Interesting. Though there might be some pressures brought to bear on his '24-hour homeostasis' perspective. Exercise induced sweating, temperature induced sweating, kidney disease states, salt intake variations.

I was raised by cultists so food was rarely salted but doubt this was significant.
I do think that the central obesity, bright red chest, profuse sweating upon exertion were hallmarks of a pheochromocytoma later diagnosed by Dxplain and that would have affected sodium balance.
I certainly think that when I had cerebral spinal fluid and lymph flowing onto my kitchen floor it affected sodium and potassium levels, though that crisis is now over.
I have had sleep apnea which is a kidney disease and which is known to bring pressure on all endocrine set points.

the DASH plan excludes dozens of foods solely due to high salt content and it attributes virtually all reductions in HPT to lowered salt intake. The major point is that the DASH program re-iterates the scientifically unproven assertion that salt induces hypertension.

I love salt and put it on everything, hence my systolic of 190 and my diastolic of 130. I won't change how I eat but I still occassionally take my Lisinopril 40mg pills.

I only have one kidney and my nephrologist has pretty much accepted my demise.

I just got my report back from Quest Diagnostics.
My blood pressure is 138/90
What really concerns me is my Hemoglobin ALC 5.7 (Blood sugar measurement)
normal is 4.0 to 5.6
After that report, I stopped putting sugar in my coffee

You may have 190/130 but it ain't due to the salt.

normal is 4.0 to 5.6
So 5.7 ain't so bad. Decreasing the sugar and sugar substitutes is very good.

You are right, just above normal
Glucose test was 98 and normal is 65-99 so high but still in the normal range
What concerns me is my total cholesterol 229, normal is 125-199

Triglycerides more important. Cholesterol is source of sex hormones so muscle mass for exercise and entry of nutrients into cell is important. cholesterol has several functions including acting as internal bandages.
