Air is the enemy of the avo. It starts to spoil almost immediately when exposed to air. If it ripens too long it starts to rot and turns black inside, or dark brown. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

We mostly get the thick alligator skinned Hass here. Once in awhile I see the thin skinned smooth avo's and I avoid them because they spoil easily. I get them when they're almost ripe and a couple days later they go in the fridge where they keep for weeks. I have 21 in there right now. If you take a risk, you may lose.
