Ugh. Tried General Tso's Chicken. General Tso should be court martialed.

Another fake Chinese dish born in New York City. No one in China ever heard of this it was invented by a chef from Taiwan in New York City 1973.

I had fast food for lunch today. That is quite unusual for me. I had a bacon cheeseburger ($1) and a small french fry ($1) from Burger King. I probably haven't eaten Burger King food in three years. It was sufficient and a good value for a $2 meal. I will not eat again today.

There’s a really good doc on this

I think calling American Chinese fake Chinese food is overkill. Most of it is very similar to Cantonese cuisine, but modified for local palettes/ingredients.

Just take a look at the menu at Chinese McDonald’s. Definitely adjusted for local pallets, but I don’t think I’d consider it fake American food.
