A popular urban myth that's totally false. "Dawn Wells herself has repeatedly stated that this legend is false. In 2014, for example, Wells said during an interview that she was paid a salary roughly equivalent to $50,000 in today’s dollars and “never received any residuals”: She spoke out on the subject many times and still the legend persists. Even if she had some 'super savvy' agent, which she did not, no studio would have given residuals to any actor in the 60's. They would have just hired somebody else. Even the Brady Bunch actors got screwed. They got residuals for a couple years and that's it. For a show that's still shown in markets around the world hundreds of times a day. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I don't make a big deal about every celebrity death, but all those related to Gilligan's Island are worthy of a tribute.  I've always found it funny how when you ask any man, Ginger or Mary Ann, almost always the answer is Mary Ann. I can't think of a single exception.
