It's all about the weather. Reading Dashiell Hammett's stories written almost 100 years ago. He lived in Calif and even then. decades before the Calif boom, he said the weather draws the worst in society to live there, The lazy, the bums, the cultists. It's too much work to live in cold climates. In Calif you can live all year almost in any kind of flimsy enclosure. Or under a bench on the beach. I was there for 7 years, The only reason it's flourishing is the regular working people tolerate it. I never see homeless encampments here because they would be run out of town, If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Eric Hoffer, he lived in San Francisco. Geez, I haven't thought about him in decades. An empty head is not really empty; it is stuffed with rubbish. Hence the difficulty of forcing anything into an empty head. Eric Hoffer The search for happiness is one of the chief sources of unhappiness. Eric Hoffer If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

He collects close to $5,000 a month between his pension and social security. He is content being homeless because it allows him to gamble more. He lives to play Keno. It is very sad to see someone sacrificing a "normal" life for their gambling. You can also tell when he has ran out of the month's funds because he starts going around and collecting cigarette butts out of the ashtrays. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent. |

Best he could do is probably 100k if they have any old style progressives. How many casinos still have live keno rooms? You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really? |

That last part oh boy oh boy. I mean I’ve seen it but how can people live like that? The President is a fink. |

He plays keno machines to hit six spots. He usually plays one quarter at a time and can win about $400 on a six spot hit. I would guess he averages at least 10 hours a day playing while the money lasts. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent. |

I agree, but he does get his 10 to 15 drinks per day for free. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent. |

I can understand a gambler paying a premium in order to play a game he likes. 5.26 house edge at roulette is rather high but I enjoy the game, But KENO is such a money-sink that its a hopeless prospect. |
