The Young Pope / The New Pope

| Gandler Member since: Aug 15, 2019 Threads: 27 Posts: 4256 | This is a great series on HBO, the Young Pope was a series from 2016 about a newly elected Pope (Jude Law). The New Pope (2020), is the sequel to that series (which is hard to summarize without giving away the first series). The first episode is out, the second will come out tomorrow night (Monday night). Its a political and philosophical series about the Catholic Church and Vatican City. One of the more original series I have seen in a while, excellent acting, cinematography, and an almost perfect soundtrack. A very brilliant show. It will not appeal to everyone, it is not an action based show, it is more subtle and dramatic (Vatican City version of House of Cards is perhaps a good summary). But, if that sounds like something you would enjoy, I would recommend checking it out.
