Lyin' Nancy said that the Republicans wanted to block the extra $600 weekly in unemployment (for I think four month).

No, Nancy, they wanted to keep people from earning more in unemployment than they did at work.

I have no problem with someone supporting the position of paying more than the income before unemployment, especially with the challenges of individual states UI systems, just with her flat out lying. I actually listened to the arguments in the Senate last night and could see the points on both sides.

Trump may hold the record, but she's told her share of whoppers...

lol

If telling lies were a physical illness, Donny would have full blown AIDs while Nancy would have a mild headache.

It seems like a reasonable approach would have been to issue the stimulus checks to everyone, universally, and then claw back from rich people on 2020 returns.

This would solve Ace's problem, and anyone else who lost work in 2020 specifically due to the virus shutdown. Not sure why they didn't do that. It would have made the total amount only a tiny bit bigger, most of the cash is going to businesses anyway.

Yeah - they way Congress and POTUS did this perplexes me
I am not impressed

One of my sons might not get anything.

He's over 17, so we won't get that money.

He has never had to file a tax return, though, so no 2018 or 2019 returns are on file for him.

He's never had a job yet?

If you are somebody else's dependent, you don't get the money.
If he has never filed indeepently he won't be eligable for the money (his father would get an extra 500 though).

I cannot comment on being a dependent. The OP said he has never filed a tax return, indicating no job by age 17.

When you are a dependent your income gets filed under your parents.....

You can work and still be filed under your parents taxes (in fact that is the norm...)

No.

If you work you file your own return. Children can file their own return if they have work income, say as being a model or such.

You might lose your standard deduction, but you file your own return.
