Good for them I support APs. But again I do not classify it as "work" or "employment".

Call it "self employment." It is legit self employment.

Would you call panhandling “self employment”?

It contributes about the same amount to society.

No, I would call that begging. And it actually detracts from society.

AP contributes taxes. They are under no obligation to contribute anything else. They take advantage of offers casinos openly make. Why are you so against this? Are you a frustrated AP?

You bet! Gypsies, thieves, muggers, beggars, all are self employed usually by choice rather than circumstances of desperation.

Who said I was against AP? Not sure why you always go to 11 on the defensive and start putting words in other people’s mouths when they just asked a simple question.

If you really think that the majority of AP’s are honest with the IRS about their cash income, I’ve got some bad news for you.

I have absolutely nothing against AP’s. In fact I admire the ingenuity. But that does not change the fact that it contributes nothing to society.

Your statements seem to indicate you are against them. Or do you tell people you like they contribute nothing to society?

What did you don in the 90s?

What do you care. I was in the
antique business for 20 years.
My wife owned a brick and
mortar antique mall. I got in
on the ground floor of Ebay
in 1997 and make a killing
for about 7 years. If you
think being an AP isn't work,
you know zero about gambling.
It's the most work I've ever done,
everything else was easy by
comparison.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

My only disagreement was on the terms used. They do not have an employer, provide a service, produce a good, they just take advantage of casino offers. Which is great for them. It is just not "work" in any traditional definition...
So in your opinion, it is the duty of every citizen to serve the collective? Yet you rage against the communists?

Either way, the people only have one purpose in your mind, not to be happy and serve themselves, but to serve the government. What is a free man to you, or is "freedom" what we strive for? Think about it man.

It is every human's job to be decent to one another, take care of our personal responsibility's, and be happy.

It is the governments job to make sure it extracts enough surplus out of it's citizens to continue it's rule. It doesn't matter which ism it is.
The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW

I am not against AP, but to play Devil's advocate, there are many negatives.

1. I would bet that only a small fraction of what AP's make show up on their tax return. I would say they contribute disproportionally less in taxes than others who have jobs where they cheat on taxes as well.

2. Just to use Ultimate X vulturing as an example..... AP's, by doing so, make the overall RTP for any given non-AP player less, as that player will never start with an advantage. As opposed to periodically starting with an advantage.

3. AP's tying up +EV progressives also remove them from the general population. Same concept as above.

4. Card counter AP takes up a seat at a table with no income, and likely a loss, for the casino. To make up for it, the overall odds against players must be increased to make the games less profitable for the remaining players. Let alone the wasted money in AP prevention techniques.

I could go on and on. My point is that other than directly benefiting the individual AP, there is close to no benefit to society in their actions.
I absolutely would classify what they do as work. More so than many things. They make a business plan. Raise capital. Put time and effort in to achieve a goal. Sounds like work to me. The idea that something good for society must be involved to classify something as work is just not true.

Just curious. You seem to want to know a lot about others, but rarely talk about what you do.
