I would drop the streaming cable but my fiancé likes it.

Unless your fiancé likes sports see if she would be happy with a lower price option like Philo which is only $20 but consists primarily of women's and kid's shows.

Live Streaming (CaTV substitutes)
Recommendation Provider Price range Channels Multiple streams Cloud DVR
Best overall "Hulu + Live TV" $54.99–$60.99/mo. 60 2 50 hrs.
Best for sports "Sling TV" $30–$45/mo. 30–50 1–4 10 hrs.
Cheapest "Philo" $20/mo. 58 3 Unlimited (30 days)
Best cloud DVR "YouTube TV" $49.99/mo. 60 3 Unlimited (9 months)
Free HBO included "AT&T TV NOW" $55–$80/mo. 45–60 3 20 hrs.

I’ve tried but she likes how everything is in the same spot as regular Hulu, if that makes sense.

The adfree Hulu library and Disney+ and ESPN+ is $18.99 per month.
The commercial supported Hulu library and Hulu Live TV and Disney+ and ESPN+ is $61.99 per month.

Live TV is increasingly an expensive albatross which is only useful for sports.

My parents are the last people in their neighborhood to get the paper local news delivered. It costs $9 per week to get a physical paper delivered 4 days per week. That's the same price as getting the Amazon Kindle version of the Wall Street Journal 7 days per week. You can get the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, or Boston Globe Kindle version for less.

TiVo Stream is a brand new (April 2020) $50 dongle which claims to solve the longstanding and fundamental issue of having to browse through lots of different streaming apps, each with its own menus, watchlists, and recommendations. It is being heavily marketed with Sling TV, but it may work with other apps.

Tried Hulu twice for free, never
saw a single thing there worth
watching.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I finally cut the cord this week.

Was paying ~$200 a month for cable and internet. Hardly ever watch cable tv anymore. Watch more YouTube than anything else.

I did have to re-enroll in HBO Max (previously got it through my cable subscription). That cost $105 for a year (minus a $50 rebate through my AMEX card).

I think I will also get Paramount+ now to be able to watch Survivor.

I don't know if this is good advice or not, but I've been looking to drop my $260 cable bill

I don't know if this is good advice or not,...

It seems pretty basic. Just don't activate all your streaming services at once. If you watch 12 months of spors than you have to pay for it, but many people watch 6 monhs or less of spors. Activate Live TV (Youtube or Sling are the least expensive) for the season you want to watch sports.

Rotate you library services (Netflix, HBO, Hulu, Disney) so you only have one active each month.

Consider T-Mobile Home Internet for $50 a month to supply internet insead of cable. In most cases that could save you $30 a month,

Opinion news is expensive so you have to pay to watch FOX news or MSNBC. See if you can survive on BBC World News which is free.
