Now I'm going to do what you AZ
people always do in Jan when I
say it 3 below zero. You say it's
70 in AZ, no complaints.

All this week it's been mid 70's
here, no humidity. It's been
glorious weather, I sit on the
front porch and watch the bird
feeders being raided by chipmunks
and wonder where my pellet gun
is.

For me if it gets below 60 degrees at anytime of day or night it is too cold. I was shocked how cold it gets in Las Vegas in the winter. If I had known, I would not have moved here.

All deserts are hot in the day and readily give heat at night. However, most people are not out and about. in a casino or two , at home, in bed, etc.

I was there one Christmas and called my folks. Walking around the monorail station behind Flamingo. 8AM or so. In Phoenix what I was wearing would have been comfortable. I keep walking because I was cold. Get to the room and weather says it was like 45F out there!

Vegas got colder than Phoenix for some reason.

It was 106 at 10pm last night. For once I will say i was very hot. The AC unit went out yesterday and the bedroom was 94 when I went to bed. I slept in a puddle of my own sweat.

Supposedly the ancient Egyptians would soak linen in water and sleep on it to get a cooling effect.

That is terrifying. It's one thing I thought of several times about my rv I recently sold. If the ac went TU, I could grab a few items and stay in it with it's ac blowing until help arrived.

You are super human to survive sleeping at 94. Maybe I could grab a sleeping bag and sleep in my freezer?

Good way to suck the heat right
out of your body. Not good for
you.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

That’s the upside if it’s 110F in your sleeping area.

They will be out on Monday between noon and 4pm to fix it. Two more very hot nights ahead. Thankfully it is only supposed to be 111 today.

Do you feel safe about a AirB&b or a room at a casino?

I'd buy a spare air conditioner if I thought I could get it installed in time. For whatever the reason, our house included, the style was to put the AC units on the roof tops. IDK why? It takes a sizeable boom truck to reach up there and change it.

That's awful DRich, you have my condolences. Is there any way you can use a window mount or portable ac unit in at least your sleeping room?

Also as long as I'm pelting you with questions, why don't people have basements here?

62 for the low in Flagstaff, that is only about 4 hours from Vegas.
