Food and water in Portugal are
not reliable. Never drink the tap
water without boiling it.

This would be a deal breaker for
me. I remember going to Mexico
in the mid 70's when bottled
water was not yet readily available.
It was almost impossible not to
get sick at least once. Even taking
a shower you had to be careful
not to get any water in your mouth.
Living this way gets very tiring
very fast.

I remember my friend ate a street
vendor beef taco and on the way
back to the hotel got an attack
of the Hershey Squirts and made
it to the lobby and squatted over
a pot containing a huge tree. Not
one of his finest moments.

I had a case of that yesterday so I suggest not drinking the tap water in the U.S.

It wasn't the water, it was
the 6 month old gas station
hot dog you ate.

I haven't been able to splurge on a gas station hot dog in the 7 months that I have been unemployed.

Nice little rundown, though Singapore seems too pricey and crowded.

On the rare occasion that I am at the Southpoint I will get one. I would rate it a 7 out of 10 in quality.

Last time I considered eating a hot dog was last December when I was in LA for a concert. I was just wandering around the Melrose area. Walked by Pinks famous hot dogs. I was amazed at the line. Wrapped around the building into the back parking lot. Must be a good dog. I did not get in line. Just too long

Given the events of the day it is time to consider......NICARAGUA!

Amazing how these places that were war zones in the 1980s are now getting expats. I knew a guy in high school who wanted to help the Contras. He was a "Soldier of Fortune" reader. But he is a whole other story.

I like the low costs of this one. City center near the water would be my choice.
